Sommelier Lali Muñiz.

What was your last pairing?

Martini Prosecco – it’s dry, rich and easy-drinking, and packed full  of delicious fruit flavour. I had it with steamed dumplings stuffed with pork, shrimp and shitake.

What did you drink last night?

Martini Bianco and tonic at home…simple, but so refreshing.

What’s your favourite wine region in the world ?

Gualtallary in Uco Valley, Mendoza. Because the wines from that  place achieve personality, textures and natural acidity, a differential freshness, with an aromatic and almost wild character.

What do you love most about your job?

LM: Travelling! Visiting different places, meeting people, trying food and wine, and hearing stories.

Name a gem in your personal cellar.

Teho Grand Cru Les Paquerettes Malbec 2013 by Alejandro Sejanovich.

What’s the best thing that ever happened to you as a somm?

Travelling to the Martini factory in Geneva, Switzerland. I went to a masterclass with Ivano Tonutti, Master of Botanicals. It was amazing and new for me as a sommelier. Definitely, this job is a huge challenge for me.

If you were a wine, you’d be…

Even though my favourite variety is Pinot Noir, if I were a wine, I’d be a Cabernet Franc! It;s intense, sometimes complex and sophisticated and offers a wide range of aromas and flavours that are both herbal and fruity…like me!
